Jack Doyle Athletics Centre - Customer Service

Every Monday, the gym runs a "Move it Monday" challenge to boost member engagement. I was responsible for creating and leading the challenge during my shift. I designed an engaging activity and actively encouraged members to participate by approaching them, explaining the challenge, and motivating them to join in. The challenge saw strong participation, and I was able to build meaningful connections with members, which helped me strengthen my interpersonal and communication skills.

Pontiac Ice - Supervisor

While working at the Pontiac Ice Plant, I was responsible for packaging ice for delivery. During one shift, my supervisor had to leave for a delivery run and assigned me to oversee plant operations in their absence. I took charge of supervising the team, coordinated tasks, and ensured that production stayed on schedule and was completed efficiently. The shift ran smoothly, all tasks were completed on time, and I further developed my leadership and team management skills in a real-world setting.

McDonalds - Customer Service

During a morning shift at McDonald’s, we were short-staffed after a team member called in sick. I was responsible for handling both drive-thru orders and preparing coffees on my own. While managing orders, a customer returned through the drive-thru visibly upset about her coffee. I stayed calm, listened to her concerns, and took steps to de-escalate the situation. I apologized, remade the coffee to her specifications, and ensured she left satisfied. The situation was resolved without further conflict, and I strengthened my skills in conflict resolution and customer service under pressure.
